Massage helps relieve chronic muscular tension and pain, improves circulation and increases joint flexibility. Massage promotes faster healing of injured muscular tissue. Additionally, massage can help to lower blood pressure and calm the nerves.
No, massage is not painful. However, during Deep Tissue Massage and Trigger Point Work, if you have chronic tension or muscle spasms (knots), you may experience some mild discomfort during a massage as the muscle tension begins to release. With your feedback, any discomfort you may feel is minimal. And in a Traditional (Therapeutic) Swedish Massage session, there usually is no discomfort experienced, and certainly no pain.
Typically, I use 100% pure, all-natural shea butter that has been blended with a small amount of coconut oil. I also use various all-natural lotions, such as Biotone and other high-quality brands.
To these, there is the option of adding essential oils. These are 100% natural concentrated plant extracts, of which tiny amounts can be added to the lotion or oil used during massage.
You may undress only as much as you feel comfortable, then use the provided sheet for draping.
